As I stepped out of the house, I noticed the distressed look on my sister-in-law's face and immediately felt concerned. She seemed lost in her own thoughts, oblivious to my presence. I cautiously approached her, not wanting to startle her any further.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked softly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She looked up at me, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "It's just... everything." she whispered. "Can I help?"
Her vulnerability triggered something primal within me. Before I knew it, I was pulling her into my arms, feeling the softness of her body against mine. She hesitated at first but eventually relaxed into my embrace.
"Maybe there is something I can do," I whispered, my breath tickling her ear. I gently brushed a stray lock of hair away from her face as I leaned in closer, my heart racing with anticipation.
